About the new single
Releasing on April 25, 2025, the track takes a surprisingly different musical direction for The Last Ghost which sees him
dust down a vintage drum machine and layer up a surprisingly rich 80s electronic landscape. The result is a catchy 2
and a half-minute pop song that evokes nostalgic, late-night vibes of the 1980s.
“I wanted to create something different,” said Craig Higgins (the creator behind The Last Ghost). “I built the song up using an old drum machine I forgot I had
that hadn’t been plugged in for 20 years. As soon as I switched it on, it sparked up 1980s vibes that I knew instantly
would yield some musical gold. I dialled in some 80s sounding Synths and had the song mostly down within an hour
or so. For an old drum machine, it sounds surprisingly fresh which made me approach the bass and guitar parts
totally differently in a less is more way. I am so happy with how it turned out”.
About The Last Ghost
Craig Higgins, the creative force behind The Last Ghost has been involved in making music off and on since 1995 and
is known for self-producing, writing, and releasing his own music. Based in East Lothian, Scotland, Higgins has
released 7 solo albums and is also part of the band, The Named Drivers, who have released 3 albums to date. Looking
ahead, The Last Ghost is eager to take the stage and perform live acoustic gigs throughout 2025. Any opportunities to
